i've been a fan of the henrickson's since the very beginning and it's very difficult to say goodbye. it's rare when a television program comes along that makes you feel so 'a part' of it. i mean, we know these are just actors playing their roles (wonderfully), but thru the years they become 'real'...like friends...and they will be missed.
*also, and i could be wrong about this, but i don't think HBO actually cancelled the show...rather, the writers had just come to the end of the story.

So now Bill died and you get to run off without the kids. Ha. What a crappy finale. If the creators really wanted to show what real families are like while throwing the polygamy aspect in it shouldn't have ended this way. This was the most SAPPY ending ever. I don't care that Bill died. What does bug me is that they made him into a martyr before he was whacked. Forgetting all the crap he pulled before that. Why did Don suddenly LOVE him again?? After all the crap Don went through, ha. Bill has been a selfish bastard the last 2 seasons and yet he's a hero. No family would ever work out with a jerk like that around. Real families split up, real families have such dirty messes that things can never work out. Instead the writers decided to try and make everyone love Bill in the last episode (they did a good job, almost sucked me into it), still have the wives making all the personal sacrifices and somehow everything is peachy.

The only one I feel for is Barb. You guys crammed to much shit into too short of time. Fuck you writers!

I have been a fan of this show since the very start. You really do become a part of something after so long and even though it's a TV show, it's really hard to say goodbye. Thank you for the wonderful time's my wife and I had watching Big Love! I will miss the show dearly. You all were amazing!! Thank you again!

I so sorry to see this show go. I have loved watching you play Margene for many years, and transforming her into a person in her own right. I wish you lots of luck in your future acting career. I don't think it won't be to long before we see you nominated for academy award.

The creators said that they felt they only needed 10 episodes to tell the story that they wanted tell. That is had nothing to do with HBO. Then that makes you asshole even bigger fucks! I guess the story they wanted to tell was crammed and full of BS. Why add extra characters and bigger plot lines when they weren't going to finish the ones that they already had started? Like Cara Lynn, who cares?? Where's Joey and Wanda? Who guys screwed up hard!

Was really bummed waking up this morning after last nights finale and knowing I will never see this "family" again. Will truly miss "Big Love"! So glad Barb was able to give Bill his last blessing.......and that Margene was able to give her great big heart to help others (finally!!). We all know that Nicki can handle the home front! Take care BIG LOVE cast........I will miss you!

Im so sad to see this show go. I feel like it was part of my family.. I loved how each wife had their own issues. I wish they didnt kill Bill off but I do understand why they felt they had to do it. Ths show changed my views on plural marriage. This show defined family at its most powerful and vulnerable time. I wish they tied up more loose ends like what happend with Carl after he shot Bill, what happened to the wives financially since they no longer had Home Plus, what happened with Albie and I wondered if Frank died with Lois... I absolutely loved how his dying wish was to have Barb give him a blessing and how although looking at all his wives, he focused on her the most and at the very end, Sarah naming her son after Bill and the wives huggin and showing Bill in the faded background. To Me if signified that he was in peace because all he wanted was his family to stay together and even after his death, they were together. This was an amazing show. The best I have ever watched, Thank you so much for 5 great years of a family that made it through everything.. I will miss you Big Love. Sunday nights will no longer be the same.. <3

What a great show, and such a sad ending. I cried for an hour afterwards. I have watched every show and really connected with everyone. I firmly believe the character playing Lois Henderson should get nominated for an Emmy. Her portrayal of an Alzheimer's patient was excellent. Bill should get best acting award in a dramatic series for his portrayal all year. I can't believe the ending with Bill dying. How sad, but it was wrapped up well - we know Ben and Heather are together, that Margene, the loving, sharing wife, is off to help others, that Barb is in the priesthood and holding the family together, and that she is now a grandmother. Everyone made their characters so real and mde us "feel" for them. The show should be nominated as "best series". I will miss watching it, but will buy all 5 DVD's so I can watch again. Best of luck to everyone in their future - I have already seen many of them on the "big screen" and know they will continue successfully. Thanks for 5 great years of Sunday night viewing.

I really love this show but I hated how they ended it. It seems like they just rushed it to an end and I still feel like they left too much unanswered. I'm very disappointed in the ending and before that I thought it was a great season but they really ruined it.

I am a minister in NC. I didn't agree with their theology but enjoyed the show immensely, and prehaps, even more than the causal viewrer, as I studied how they lived their faith.

For sure, it was a special show. I wish more of my convservative Christian friends had watched it. We should all put faith as high as this familydid, in our own lives.

What a run HBO, The Saprano's, Deadwood, Band of Brothers, John Adams, and now BIG LOVE. (as my 3 yr old says - more please!)

Really? People really think this was a good finale? Besides making a man who only truly though of himself a martyr we're supposed to accept that Margene forgets she has 3 children and just leaves them to go help others? Really? That is one crappy mother in my book. The whole thing was maddening, actually the last 2 seasons were maddening.

I, like the other post will miss our Sunday nights. My husband and I have watched every Sunday like a date night. I couldn't wait for Sunday nights. Now what will we do? I will miss you guys so much. I am glad Barb was able to give Bill his blessing, I was crying like a baby....The angry neighbor threw me for a loop though, good job. When Barb got her new car and all the wives went for a ride, mu husband called it and said they are all going to die together in an accident. I said no that can't be it, what will happen to all the kids? You all were like family to me. You really had become a part of me. I have enjoyed you all from the very first show. Thank you all for wonderful memories. Sorry Bill had to die, but I guess that is better than jail for the rest of your life. I will watch reruns and laugh and cry. Thank you for such a wonderful show.....my love to all of you

I was SOOO sad to see Bill get killed in the end....sheesh. After everything this family has gone through I just didn't see this coming. I am disappointed that we didn't get to see Joey and Wanda this season....what happened to them?? What happened to the Greens?? We all know that Alby went to jail, but it would have been nice to see him in the last episode as well. He was a major player in this.
Getting back to Bill, though, I think that he knew he was going to die. I was discussing this with my friend. She read somewhere that when people are about to die they have a "vision" of loved ones that have passed on...and he had that vision in church. He was also writing quite a bit in his notepad in the backyard...looked like his will, perhaps. :-((....I didn't see it coming though....Carl killed him?? Wow....
I will miss this show....I wish it didn't have to end. I loved ALL of the characters and their relationships to one another. So sad to see Lois die....what a touching seen between her and Frank....what do you know? The old fart actually had some redeeming qualities about him. Bruce Dern is an amazing actor...this entire cast is flawlessly talented!
Will miss all of you!

Hey, great show, and wonderful characters that evolved as the show progressed. I could never get my husband or grown children to watch and knew no one else who watched the show, but I watched by myself every Sunday and loved it - like a little dessert every Sunday night. I will miss it! Yay HBO for making another thoughtful, carefully wrought high series. The ending was silly, but I loved the humor of the show, which was there till the last episode. Nikki and Barb - how fun to watch! H

I like so many who have posted really enjoyed the show. Though I hate the ending not because it was badly done but because I never expected that you would kill Bill. I loved Lois and I hated to see her die too. I don't know I wished it would of ended in a more happier note. I have to say though my two most favorite characters were Margene and Lois. I am going to miss the show very much. Thank you for the 5 years my family and I have watched it together from the beginning. Good luck to all.

I remember reading reviews about this show before it even started, and thinking how disgusting polygamy is, and how I would never watch such a show, but my brother watched it, and said it was a really interesting show, so I decided to catch the rerun and was hooked! Couldn't wait for the 2nd episode to air, and every episode since! Was really bummed to hear that this was going to be the last season, and could not figure how they were going to end it all season long. They really got me with the ending, because I did not see it coming, and I must say it was the saddest series finale I have ever seen! I'm still reeling from it! It is amazing how a show can pull you in and make you feel so strongly about it! I didn't sleep all night thinking about the finale, and was so sad that Bill died, but was happy to see the family was still together. Was definitely wondering about Margene's young children though, and how she could leave them for such long periods of time, and it kept me wondering about all of their futures... I really want to know more, and wish that they had not ended it yet, because I really thought there was more story to tell about this amazing family. Even though I don't believe in polygamy, I really loved this family, and wanted more! I like so many others will miss this incredible show, and would love to see a reunion show, and see where the family is in a few years... I'm sure it will never happen though. Even though the ending saddened me so much, I did like it, because I was so surprised, and it is an ending I will never forget of a show that I will never forget. I used to look forward to every January waiting for the show to start and sad every March when it ended for the season. I will miss Big Love, and all of it's incredible characters / actors! There will never be another show like it! I have to say, it is my all time favorite show ever! So long Big Love!!!

I forgot to mention, I also wanted to know how the family was surviving after losing Home Plus... it appeared that they did not sell any of the homes, so how were they living finacially? They said they answered all of our questions, but I still have a few...

To the writers of the show, you guys are AMAZING!! I was truly sucked into the lives of the Hendrickson's & felt such a connection. I could't wait for Sun. nights & am so sad the show is over!! I balled for about an hour last night!! I had a feeling Bill was going to die when he had the flashback in the church. I know you ended it b/c you had felt it ran it's course, but there was so much more I wanted to see!!! I will miss Big Love like no other show!! Ever considered a movie??? HBO pulled it off w/ SATC???? I am not "done" with this family & their journey yet, I am so sad it's really over!! To all the actors, great job in making us BELIEVE!!!! Love it & will miss it greatly!!

Good bye Big Love,
Like everyone else, I couldn't wait until Sunday to watch Big Love and I'm so sad that its over. I loved how they ended this series. I was hoping that they might continue with the show but once I saw that Bill died...I knew it was truly over. I cried when I saw the image of Bill behind the three wives as they hugged so you knew he was still watching over them. I will miss my Sunday evenings with Bill, Barb, Margene and Nicki.

I also wondered how they were suriving financially....maybe a life insurance policy from Bill.

What an amazing show! I have loved watching this show every week and will really miss it! the ending was brillant in my mind....I was expecting Bill to die this season however I was thinking it would be at the hands of Alby not Carl!!! what a great twist! After everyone showed up at the church I was thinking it would end with him being the prophet.

Thanks Big Love Cast and Crew for an amazing series!

I'm sure a man like Bill had a huge life insurance policy to take care of his family if he couldn't. I loved the ending....Perfect!

I think the writing missed the boat (pun intended) with Margene's ending. We are supposed to believe that Margene is growing into her own woman, spreading her wings. NOT!

For a mother of three young children who have just lost their father to take off on a mission to help others is the ultimate selfish and immature action. It really doesn't matter that Marge wrapped her travel lust in the cloak of "helping." She belongs at home with those fatherless babies. Anything else is just as self centered and silly as flirting with Ben or jumping in the pool in the middle of Teenie's baptism.

If the writers wanted us to believe that all three women evolved, grew, and came into their own in the end, Marge's path was the completely wrong choice.

Was there even one mother in the writer's room? Was there no one to say, hey, this is a stupid ending for Marge?

Good luck to the cast and crew of Big Love. You gave us years of entertainment. It is sad that you could not have sent Bill to jail and given us Specials in the future.

With the close of Big Love I will now stop my HBO subscription.

Good bye Big Love, good bye HBO
